The girls have been unbeaten all year through the Leinster league and Super six play offs and faced Portrane in the semi-finals who had qualified through for their first ever Irish cup finals. Railway won 4-0 but were pushed hard against.

In the final Pembroke who saw off Ulster champions Ards (5-3) in their semi-final then faced their indoor nemesis Railway who had defeated them twice this year already. It was Pembroke who took the lead in the first minute and optimistic of an upset but that was quickly put to one side as Railway scored four unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead thanks to a Lily Lloyd hat trick and a fourth from Orla Patton just before half time. The second half continued in a similar fashion as Ailish Long, Mati Errico and Orla Patton stretched the lead to 7-1 before Pembroke scored a PC in the final quarter but Railway still finished off with their eighth goal for a resounding 8-2 win.

Good luck to the girls who head off to Portugal to play in European B division hoping to again secure promotion to A division.

After the Womens 2nds squad winning the Leinster B division this year, the girls under 18s winning their Leinster cup and the boys u14s winning the Portrane / Leinster cup and still the under 16s it is already one of the most successful indoor years for the club after title number 5 !
