Railway junior indoor teams continued their impressive indoor season with the boys u16s winning the Leinster u16 title and the girls finishing runners up in the u16 final.
The Railway boys captained by Toby O’Connell advanced unbeaten to the final to play Monkstown and after falling two goals behind early on the Railway boys had to dig deep to turn it around and to win out 3-2.
The Railway girls captained by Mati Errico & Tori Cuddy also advanced unbeaten to their final against Boyne and with the scores level at one goal each it then went into 1v1 shuttles where Railway were very unlucky to miss out.
Railway did have double success winning both the boys goalkeeper of the tournament Luke Murphy and girls goalkeeper of the tournament Chloe Hiles.
Both boys and girls teams featured a significant number of our second year indoor players which means they have great indoor experience for the next two years to come at this age group.
This season Railway junior girls indoor teams starting off by winning the Leinster u18 girls plate, then in Portrane won the u14 cup tournament and then were runner up in the u16s at Gormanstown.
The boys indoor finished runners up in the Leinster Portrane u14 cup final and then capped the junior indoor season off with their success yesterday.
A big thanks to Boyne HC and Portrane HC for leading the way in organising these indoor tournaments, all the organisers and volunteers and finally to our Railway indoor coaches this year Claudia Coyne & Hannah Rooney (u14 girls), Kenny Carroll & Brennie Parsons (u14 & u16 boys), Niall Fogarty (u16 & u18 girls) and Jajam Kentwell (u18 girls).
