Railway boys u14s capped off a very impressive year as they defeated YMCA 2-1 in the league final on Sunday with goals from Charlie Trotter and Rob O'Brien. They now have added the u14 league trophy to the Leinster u14 Cup they won on St Patrick's day.
The team have been undefeated since they lost their opening league match back in September.
Many of the team played up on the u16s also this year who also had a success league campaign together with winning the inaugural Leinster u16 Indoor hockey title and finishing runner up in the Leinster Boys u14 Indoor cup.
The boys u14B side went out in their shield semi-final losing on 1v1s to Pembroke u14B, albeit Pembroke played half their A team in the B team fixture but despite that the Railway lads matched them and should have won it in normal time.
The u14 boys programme under the coaching direction of Kenny Carroll and supported by Tom Stuart and on occasions Corry Bourke & Brian Delany have had a fantastic season and it bodes well for next year as the boys move up age groups including our u12 boys who were unbeaten in their League.
Well done to all the lads who have applied themselves well at training all year and richly deserve the success they achieved.
A big thanks not just to the coaches and umpires but also the parents who have supported and helped with lifts through the season too.
